Cooma is roughly 75 minutes south of Canberra on the Monaro Highway, the gateway to the Snowy Mountains. It's serious horse country — stockhorses, station-bred working horses, and a strong eventing and pony-club culture across the Monaro.
Because of the distance, Cooma visits are coordinated trips rather than ad-hoc same-day visits. If you can give us a bit of lead time, we can usually slot routine work — annual dentals, vaccinations, pre-purchase exams — into an upcoming Monaro run.
For pre-purchase exams, this works particularly well: Cooma sales often involve buyers from Canberra and Sydney, so a Cooma-based exam day saves everyone a trailer trip.
